Nature teaches us to be more human by showing us the importance of connection, resilience, and balance through its cycles and interdependent systems.

Here are 11 simple to deepen your relationship with nature.

  1. Go to one of your favorite spots to watch the sunset or sunrise.

  1. Forest bathe. Spend time among the trees and feel your mood soften.

  1. Adorn your home with colors and textures that inspire you from nature.

  1. Fill your home with plants.

  1. Burn incense. Find a scent that is especially good at calming your nervous system. For me, that's lavender.

ree

  1. Drink tea. Each herb or flower has specific healing benefits. Often what you are drawn to is exactly what you need.

  1. Hang bird feeders on your property. Or, if you live in a city, go to the park to watch the birds.

  1. Diffuse your favorite essential oils. Lemon can brighten your day, while chamomile oil is calming. Whatever inspires a positive feeling is the perfect scent for you.

ree

  1. Place salt lamps and crystals throughout your home. Find a crystal that resonates with your energy and build a relationship. I particularly like rose quartz, which is known for being unconditionally loving.

  1. Walks in nature have endless benefits, including increased creativity. If you feel stuck, sometimes taking a walk outside is all you need to get the juices flowing again.

ree

  1. Delight in the clouds. Sometimes paying attention to the simple things frees you from obsessing about things you can't control.

ree

  1. Pay attention to nature's cycles. Celebrate the arrival of leaves in the spring and the beautiful colors in the fall. Get into a habit of setting intentions and letting go with the cycles of the moon. Watch the tides if you live near the ocean. These cycles are grounding and teach us to slow down and listen to our own natural rhythms.

I'll add more as I think of them.
